What you’ll get with me:
I do not do one-size-fits-all protocols; I will work with your individual physiology, life circumstances and preferences to find a plan of action that is attainable and sustainable for you.
I take a root cause approach, and I don’t believe in suppressing symptoms. Your symptoms are messages from your body telling you that something needs to change! Luckily, your body wants to be in homeostasis, you just have to give it what it needs to get there.
I do not ask you to run a bunch of labs you don’t need. I will work with you to get the information we need from the minimum amount of testing, and mostly from tests your GP has probably already ordered and that are usually affordable and/or covered by your insurance. Symptoms trump lab values in my book.
I will teach you how to read, assess, and track your symptoms and some simple metrics like basal body temperature, yourself. We will look at your symptoms and subjective measures like sleep quality, energy level throughout the day, libido, mood, and focus to help us determine whether what we are doing is working for you or not, and we will continually reassess and tweak accordingly. If something is not producing the desired results after a reasonable amount of time and consistency, I do NOT believe in “doing it harder.” We will try something else! Every body responds differently from the next, and sometimes the same body even responds differently to the same inputs at different times. Health is a free flowing process, NOT a static goal.
I will not feed you a load of BS. Getting healthier often involves a lot of experimentation and TIME. I won’t lie and say you’ll see amazing results in 30 days or your money back. Chances are it didn’t take you 30 days to get to where you are now. That’s not to say, however, that you might not feel markedly better after 30 days than you did when we started, or see some results! There are no guarantees, except for my promise to you that we will not keep doing something if it’s not working (as long as we’ve given it the old college try), and I will always be straight up and reasonable with you.
My goal is to get you from a potentially restricted, narrow place into an expansive, enjoyable one that feels sustainable for you. Our culture incorrectly conflates “healthy” and “miserable/tasteless/restrictive/[insert unpleasant adjective here].” This is just WRONG. I aim to show you how pleasurable a healthy life and body actually are, and how greater health gives you more freedom, not less!
My other, perhaps biggest, goal is for you to eventually stop needing me!! If I have done a good job, you should have the necessary information and tools to empower you to stay in touch with the signs your body gives you and direct your own health.
